Criteria
for QAers in the Automated Testing Process Group
Background: This group will be the pilot group for
automated testing on the QA side. Five to
six QAers
will make up this group, each representing a different application. During the pilot phase, which will last 3-4
months, the Automated Testing Process Group will learn the basics of script
writing, work with Foundations developers, and lay out a plan for rolling out
scripting to all teams for application testing.
For this last point, the group will guide application reps in what areas
of an application would be best to script, the format that the scripts are
written in, and lay out a timetable to have regression testing scripts in place
for migration testing. In the next
phase, the QAers in the Process Group will serve as trainers and resources for
scriptors, who will write/record the scripts for the applications, and
coordinate scripting to have scripts in place for testing.
Criteria for the Automated Testing Process Group
- Long-term commitment (through 2004)
- Attention to detail, organized.
- Willing to go through training and to train others
- Will be available as a resource for other
QAers/developers
- Willing to devote extra time if required
- Willing to be available as support for teams in other
buildings
- Minimum 6 months experience at Epic
- Leaning towards technical aspect of QA; not afraid of
coding or learning basic programming
